Pediatric dentist Dr. Todd Bjur

Todd Bjur, DDS

Dr. Todd Bjur earned is Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University Dental School in 1986.

Immediately after graduation, Dr. Todd started his dental career as a Navy Dentist. His first duty station was Parris Island MCRD in South Carolina. He joined 12th Dental Company Beaufort MCAS in 1988. He was awarded the Navy Marine Corps Medal for heroism in 1991 and also served with the 2nd Marines during the Gulf War.

After leaving the Navy in 1992 as a Lieutenant Commander, Dr. Todd owned a private practice. In 2002 he joined a community health center where he opened several school based programs in Beaufort County. The involvement with the school based programs sparked his interest and passion for working with children and young adults, and ultimately led him to join the Savannah clinic in 2006.

Dr. Todd and his wife live in South Carolina with their three dogs and parrot. They have five successful grown children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, fishing and weight lifting.

General dentist Dr. Cary Cowgill

Cary Cowgill, DDS

Dr. Cary P. Cowgill is a 1997 graduate from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. During her junior and senior years, she was the WVU Chapter President of the American Association of Women Dentists and the Treasurer of her dental school Fraternity, Psi Omega.

Upon graduation, Dr. Cowgill was in private practice in Charleston, WV. She also worked with the Kanawha Dental Health Council, providing dental treatment to under- and uninsured school-aged children of Kanawha County. After working in her beloved home state of WV for 15 years, Dr. Cary relocated her family to Savannah, GA, in 2012.

Dr. Cary is an active member in the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Southeastern District Dental Association.

General dentist Dr. John Good

John Good, DDS

Dr. John graduated from Temple Dental School in Philadelphia in 1970.

He entered the US Air Force serving 3 years including a tour in Vietnam and Thailand.

He owned a private in Reading, PA from 1974 to 2006. During that time he founded a youth soccer club which is still extremely active.

He joined the Savannah clinic in 2008. In his spare time he is a dentist at Volunteers in Medicine on Hilton Head.

General dentist Dr. James Ware

James Ware, DMD

Dr. James J. Ware earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1982.

Dr. Ware was immediately commissioned in the United States Navy Dental Corps and served 30 years in multiple dental and medical positions throughout the world with the Navy and Marine Corps team, retiring as Captain, USN, Dental Corps in 2012.

Dr. Ware was raised in Savannah, GA. graduating from Benedictine Military School in 1974 and graduated from Emory University with a BS in Biology in 1978.

Dr. Ware completed a two year General Practice Dental Residency in 1989 at the National Naval Dental Command Bethesda, Md.

Pediatric dentist Dr. Antionette Wilson

Antionette Wilson, DDS

Dr. Antionette Wilson-Banks was born and raised in Hampton County, South Carolina. She graduated from Estill Public Schools and also attended Paine College in Augusta, GA where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education. Dr. Wilson-Banks went on to teach middle school; and after two years she entered Howard University College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery. At Howard University, Dr. Wilson-Banks also completed her postgraduate specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Wilson-Banks is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Order of the Eastern Star and Delta Phi Sigma (Dental) Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Wilson-Banks is married to Kenneth Banks and has a two year old daughter, Kensley Banks and a puppy, Charlie. Outside of dentistry she enjoys traveling, shopping, singing and being an active member of her church.

Pediatric dentist Dr. Melissa Migliozzi

Melissa Migliozzi, DMD

Dr. Melissa Migliozzi grew up in rural Minnesota and received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Dr. Melissa attended dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina and recently graduated with her DMD degree. Before entering dental school, Dr. Melissa knew she wanted to serve the pediatric population and while in school her passion to work with pediatric patients only grew. Following graduation, she pursued her passion and joined Savannah Smiles team.

While in school, Dr. Melissa was an active member in:

  • American Student Dental Association
  • American Association for Women Dentists
  • Psi Omega Dental Fraternity

Dr. Melissa and her husband live in South Carolina with their Golden Retriever, Buck. When Dr. Melissa is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family, boating, playing with her dog, baking, and running!

Dr. Melissa is thrilled to be a part of the Savannah Smiles team and looks forward to serving the Savannah community.
